For the Beauty of the Earth

Call to Worship
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His faithful love endures forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
His faithful love endures forever.
He alone does great wonders.
His faithful love endures forever.
-Psalm 136:1-4

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
[Youtube] [iTunes] [Spotify]

“Indeed, the Lord’s arm is not too weak to save, and his ear is not too deaf to hear.”
-Isaiah 59:1

God of mercy, your kindness has drawn us to you, but we often forget your love and desire for us.
Help us believe the good confession that you have accepted us and given us new life in you.

As a good Father, your grace draws us in, but also compels us outward.
Help us to rejoice in your love and offer the same kindness to one another

We remember Jesus taught us not only to have love for our brother and sister, but also our enemies.
Help us to obey his teaching, convict us when we stray, and give us hearts to love those we see as our enemies.

Assurance of Pardon
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you.
For look, darkness will cover the earth, and total darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will shine over you, and his glory will appear over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to your shining brightness.”
-Isaiah 60:1

Lord, I Need You

May the grace of Christ, which daily renews us, and the love of God, which enables us to love all, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, which unites us in one body, make us eager to obey the will of God until we meet again, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Call to Worship
My soul, bless the Lord, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
My soul, bless the Lord, and do not forget all his benefits.
He redeems your life from the Pit; he crowns you with faithful love and compassion.

He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
-Psalm 103:1-5,11-13

Psalm 34 (Taste and See)
[Youtube] [iTunes] [Spotify]

So he told them this parable: “What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it? When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’ I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.
-Luke 15:3-7

Assurance of Pardon
“Jesus Christ gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness
and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession,
eager to do good works.”

As you go, be encouraged that the God of all grace goes with you.
He walks before you, and he orders your steps.
He cares for you, and he does not withhold what is good.
Peace be with you all.

Grace Alone

Call to Worship
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
O LORD my God, you are very great!
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
covering yourself with light as with a garment,
stretching out the heavens like a tent.

He set the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be moved.
He makes springs gush forth in the valleys.
He causes the grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for man to cultivate.

He spread out the lights in the heavens,
and the wild beasts are fed by his hand.
O LORD, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.

I will sing to the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
Praise the LORD!
From Psalm 104

Fortress (A Mighty Fortress Is Our God)
[Youtube] [iTunes] [Spotify]

Almighty God, we confess how hard it is to be your people.
You have called us to be the church,
But we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
O Lord, have mercy upon us.

You have equipped us for every good work in the body
Yet we confess that we have been dim lights in the world
And often the world has shown brighter in our churches than the church in the world.
O Lord, have mercy upon us.

And grant, O merciful God, for the sake of the gospel and your glory,
that we may live holy, just, and humble lives.
Let your word shine brightly in our hearts and minds
And expose the hidden places where we have grown comfortable with sin and error.
Christ have mercy upon us.

Assurance of Pardon
We  were dead in the trespasses and sins and followed the course of this world.
We all once lived in the passions of our flesh,
carrying out the desires of the body and the mind,
were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.

By grace you have been saved.
He raised us up with him and seated us with him
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

so that he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace
kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God,
not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

How Great Thou Art

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
