Call to Worship
God is famous throughout the world;

He has broken the fiery arrows of the enemy,
the shields and swords and weapons of war.

LORD, You are glorious and more majestic
than the highest mountains.
No wonder you are greatly feared!
Who can stand before you when you are angry?

 From heaven you sentenced your enemies;
the earth trembled and stood silent before you.
You stand up to judge those who do evil
and to rescue the oppressed of the earth.

Let everyone bring offerings to the Awesome One.
For he breaks the pride of princes,
and the kings of the earth fear him.

Confession of Sin
Our Father, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of you
and for ignoring your immensity and greatness.
Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that you rule
the nations and our small lives.
Holy Spirit, we offend you in minimizing your power
and squandering your gifts.
We confess that our blindness to your glory, O triune God,
has resulted in shallow confession,
tepid conviction, and only mild repentance.

Have mercy upon us.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the offenses of your people?
You do not stay angry forever,
but delight to show your mercy.
Once again you have compassion on us.
You tread our sins underfoot
and hurl our transgressions into the depths of the sea.
-Micah 7:18-19

The Lord’s Supper
Friends, this is the joyful feast of the people of God!
People will come from east and west,
from north and south,
and sit at table in the kingdom of God.
When our risen Lord was at table with his disciples,
he took the bread, and blessed and broke it,
and gave it to them.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.
This is the Lord’s table.
Our Savior invites those who trust him
to share the feast that he has prepared.
—based on Luke 13:29; 24:30-31

Benediction
May the love of God enfold us.
May the grace of God uphold us.
May the power of God set us free
to love and serve all God’s people.
Now to God, who by the means of the power working in us

is able to do so much more than we can ask or even think,
to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all times,
for ever and ever.
Amen!

Call to Worship
So then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh—called “the uncircumcised” by those called “the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands. At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
the sheep under his care.
Ephesians 2:11-13; Psalm 95:6-7

Confession of Sin
Holy and merciful Father, we confess that like Israel we can be hard-hearted and stiff-necked. We forget that as gentiles we were cut off from your covenant; we were like foreigners in a strange land. Because we forget the amazing mercy you showed to us, we continue to build walls of hostility between us and the foreigners and strangers among us. Lord, forgive our pride and turn our hearts toward others in compassion. Teach us to love foreigners and strangers among us as we remember that we were once alienated from your kingdom.
-Based on Deuteronomy 10:18-19

 Holy God,
holy and mighty,
holy immortal One,
have mercy on us.

Assurance of Pardon
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,  so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord”
-1 Corinthians 1:20-25, 30-31

The Lord’s Supper
Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when he was betrayed, took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples and said: Take; eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way he also took the cup after the supper, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying, Drink of it, all of you. This cup is the New Testament in my blood, shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Benediction
May the grace of Christ, which daily renews us,
and the love of God, which enables us to love all,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, which unites us in one body,
make us eager to obey the will of God until we meet again,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Peace be with you.
And also with you.

Confession of Sin
Lord, we are like sheep, and we get lost.
We forget the needs of our neighbors
and do not love you above all else.
We need a Savior, so we long for Jesus.
Come, fill our lives, Jesus. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon
For you are saved by grace through faith,
and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift —
not from works, so that no one can boast.
For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
–Ephesians 2:8-10

The Lord’s Supper
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you:
fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
Blessed be God forever
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become the cup of our salvation.
Blessed be God forever
