CTK is looking to identify 3-5 men and women who have the desire, gifting, and capacity to serve at a high level in various aspects of church life. We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to “jump in” and take ownership in ministry areas under the guidance of CTK staff. The residency will operate like an independent study. Each resident will need to be comfortable with creative problem solving in semi-structured environment. This residency is part time (approximately 20 hours per week), which will be spent doing ministry, working with staff, building teams, and personal development.
The potential areas of ministry are broad and may include any of the following depending on individual gifting and interest
Implementing a 3rd worship service
Marketing and social media
Administration and operations
Graphic design and art
Welcome and assimilation
Socials and connecting
Theology and Preaching
Local Outreach/Mercy Ministry
Care and counseling
City Group Ministry
All ministry residents must meet the character qualifications of a deacon, as described in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
“Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.”
All ministry residents must be willing to commit to at least one year of service (renewable after that)
The residency will begin in late summer or early fall after an application and evaluation process. The application process includes: (1) complete the online application, (2) complete an online enneagram assessment, (3) upload the completed assessment here (free with coupon code that will be provided), and (4) interview with a pastor.
Every resident will receive training in his or her area of ministry assignment, and will also work alongside other residents in a cohort. Every resident will receive regular coaching from someone on our staff to discuss his or her spiritual growth, physical and emotional health, theological development, ministry assignments, and marriage and family life (if applicable).
Every resident will be evaluated for their gifting and experience and assigned an appropriate ministry area to work in (or a combination of areas).
The ministry residency is not paid directly by the church, but outside funding options can be discussed and considered on a case by case basis.
The application deadline is TBD. For questions, contact Jason Hudson at email@example.com.
