Call to Worship
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas
and built it on the ocean depths.

Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
who do not worship idols
and do not swear deceitfully.

They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
Such people may seek you
and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.

Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty;
the Lord, invincible in battle.

Open up, ancient gates!
Open up, ancient doors,
and let the King of glory enter.
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
He is the King of glory.
— Psalm 24

Confession
God, your great power is on display in all creation.
You who created the oceans and the galaxies
have also created people into your own image.
But we have failed to love you again and again.
We have failed to hear and obey your Word.
We have failed to recognize your grace in our lives.

Draw our heart and minds back to you, Lord.
Open our eyes to see your work.
Lead our feet in the paths of life.
Amen.

Assurance
Hear this church, and rejoice!
God’s plan of redemption was established before the foundation of the earth?
God promised that someone would crush the serpent’s head?
God declared that Abraham’s family would bless the whole world?

We proclaim the One who was promised, who came and died.
We tell of the One who bore the sins of the world.
We declare the One who has risen and ascended to the Father.

May we all be assured that God restores us in times of trouble.
God brings peace and rest to our tired souls.
He rescues us from the depths of ruin in this world.
Praise God for his promises. Praise him for the works of his hands. Amen.

Call to Worship
Sing a new song to the Lord.

Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name.
Proclaim his salvation from day to day!
Declare his glory among the nations,
his wondrous works among all peoples.

Say among the nations,
“The Lord reigns.
The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken.
He judges the peoples fairly.”
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice.
Let the sea and all that fills it resound.

Let the fields and everything in them celebrate.
Then all the trees of the forest will shout for joy
before the Lord, for he is coming!
for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness
and the peoples with his faithfulness.
— Psalm 96:1-3, 10-13

Confession
Lord of all creation, we confess that our lives are too filled with clutter and distraction to see your miracles all around us.

Through the groaning caused by sin and futility, this world calls out the echoes of your blessing: “It is very good”

Though your glory is on display in the night sky,
We prefer the dimmer lights of screens
Christ have mercy

You provide for our needs through sun and rain,
But we are proud of our self-reliance
Lord have mercy on us

Your gifts of creation are full of endless pleasure,
Yet we are too easily satisfied with easy distraction
Christ have mercy

Forgive our lukewarm worship and awaken our hearts and minds to the glory of Christ revealed in the creation, for it is by him and for him all things were made that he may be first in all things.

Death Has Lost Its Sting

Assurance
He is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn over all creation.
For everything was created by him,
in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through him and for him.

He is before all things,
and by him all things hold together.
He is also the head of the body, the church.
He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that he might come to have
first place in everything.

For God was pleased to have
all his fullness dwell in him,
and through him to reconcile
everything to himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace
through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated and hostile in your minds as expressed in your evil actions. But now he has reconciled you by his physical body through his death, to present you holy, faultless, and blameless before him— if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith and are not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard.
Amen.
— Colossians 1:15-23

Benediction
As we go, may all of your senses be awake to the glory of God revealed in His good creation, quickened by the Holy Spirit who hovered over the waters, all for the sake of Jesus Christ who is preeminent now and always. Go now and carry the light of creation into dark places, until we meet again.
Amen.

Come And See

Call to Worship
We have gathered here this day to give thanks and praise to Almighty God for his love and gifts. We praise him for the gifts of creation and the work we are called to do. We offer our work in thanksgiving for His gifts of creation, calling, skill, and creativity.
We remember today those without work. It is our hope for them that, in God’s love and in our dedication and service, they may find support and opportunity to use their skills.
So as we give our thanks and praise, we join in the prayer our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ taught us saying:
Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.

Confession
For self-righteousness that will not compromise,
and from selfishness that gains by the manipulation of others,
forgive us, O God.
For the lust of money or power that yields destruction
forgive us, O God.
For the arrogance and thoughtlessness
that abuses your good creation,
forgive us, O God.
For trusting in ways of violence
and mistrusting the Prince of Peace,
forgive us, O God.
For suspicions and fears
that stand in the way of reconciliation,
forgive us, O God.
For words and deeds that encourage discord,
and contributes to oppression,
forgive us, O God. Amen.

Assurance
And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
— 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Philippians 1:6

Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace.
Hallelujah! Thanks be to God!

Praise To The Lord

[Youtube] [iTunes] [Spotify]

Call to Worship
Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.
Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all.
In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.
– 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

Confession
O King and Father, your Son died and was raised up in power.
Now enable us to die to our sin in repentance so we may rise to
new life in Him. We confess to you:

Lord, though you should teach us, we inform ourselves;
though you should rule us, we control ourselves;
though you should fulfill us, we console ourselves.
Now heal our confused minds with your word,
heal our divided affection with your love,
heal our troubled minds with your peace,
heal our anxious hearts with your presence,
all for the sake of your Son,
who loved us and gave himself for us.
Amen.

Assurance
Your hands have made and fashioned me;
give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.
Those who fear you shall see me and rejoice,
because I have hoped in your word.
I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous,
and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
Let your steadfast love comfort me
according to your promise to your servant.
Let your mercy come to me, that I may live;
for your law is my delight.
Let the insolent be put to shame,
because they have wronged me with falsehood;
as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
Let those who fear you turn to me,
that they may know your testimonies.
May my heart be blameless in your statutes,
that I may not be put to shame!

Benediction
God of love, we see your glory in the face of Jesus Christ, who humbled himself and became like a servant, even washing his disciples feet. Truly you shine in our hearts when we show your love to others in service and fellowship.
We leave this place eager to reflect the glory of Christ, our source of hope and life, our Teacher and Lord. Amen.
