Call to Worship
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.

How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
letting them drink from your river of delights.

For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.
Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
give justice to those with honest hearts.

Confession
Father, you tell us in your Word
that whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.
But we live in a cynical time when the great and the small
Fail to stand by their words and promises are easily broken.
We confess that we have too frequently relaxed our faith.
We have allowed ourselves to become cynical,
and our cynicism has boiled over
with slander, criticism, prayerlessness, and pessimism.
How easily we’ve allowed ourselves
to crumple under the stresses of our lives.
Forgive us for our smallness of faith.
In your mercy, hear our prayer.
Amen.

Assurance
And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can have confidence to enter the holy places because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain that is, through his flesh, into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but e
ncourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Benediction
As you go:
“Keep alert and stand firm in your faith,
be courageous, be strong.
Let all that you do be done in love”
In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.
