Call to Worship
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!
This is the good news—
the grave is empty;
Christ is risen.
Hallelujah!
This is the good news—
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never put it out.
Hallelujah!
This is the good news—
once we were no people;
now we are God’s people.
Hallelujah!
This is the good news—
where sin has brought death and decay
the resurrection of Christ is making all things new!
Hallelujah!
Christ is our peace,
the indestructible peace
we now share with each other.
Hallelujah!

Confessio
Though the resurrection of Jesus is the first fruit of a great harvest
We confess that our lives are too often lifeless and dull
Though Jesus is the great light that has shown in the darkness
We confess that we are still prone to hide in darkness
Though Jesus has shown us the ways that lead to life and reflect his kingdom
We confess that we cling to the values of a broken and confused world

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, grant us your peace.

Death Has Lost Its Sting

Assurance
Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Death has been swallowed up in victory.
Where, death, is your victory?
Where, death, is your sting?

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
— 1 Corinthians 15:20-22, 55-58

Benediction
As Christ burst forth from the tomb,
may new life burst forth from us
and show itself in acts of love and healing to a hurting world.
And may that same Christ, who lives forever
and is the source of our new life,
keep your hearts rejoicing and grant you peace
this day and always.
Amen.
