Call to Worship
How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked
or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers!
Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.

He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season
and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand up in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
-Psalm 1:1-5

Confession
“Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine,
and who make an alliance, but against my will, that they may add sin on top of sin;
Who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction,
to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!
For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the Lord;

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”
-Isaiah 30:1-2,9,18

Assurance of Pardon
In Jesus we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of his grace that he
richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.
-Ephesians 1:7-8
