Call to Worship
The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my future.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are always increasing pleasures.
The instructions of the Lord are perfect–reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy–making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right–bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear–giving insight for living.
As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God.
I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my food day and night,
while all day long people say to me, “Where is your God?”
I remember this as I pour out my heart: how I walked with many,
leading the festive procession to the house of God, with joyful and thankful shouts.
Why, my soul, are you so dejected?
Why are you in such turmoil?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
I will remember God’s faithfulness in the land of Jordan.
The Lord will send his faithful love by day;
his song will be with me in the night— a prayer to the God of my life.
Assurance of Pardon
“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!
I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin.
I will put breath into you, and you will come to life.
Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
Come to the Feast
Grant, O Lord, that what has been said with our lips we may believe in our hearts,
and that what we believe in our hearts we may practice in our lives,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
