Godliness in the Present Age
Call to Worship
My soul, bless the Lord, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
My soul, bless the Lord, and do not forget all his benefits.
He redeems your life from the Pit; he crowns you with faithful love and compassion.
He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
So he told them this parable: “What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it? When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’ I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.
Assurance of Pardon
“Jesus Christ gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness
and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession,
eager to do good works.”
As you go, be encouraged that the God of all grace goes with you.
He walks before you, and he orders your steps.
He cares for you, and he does not withhold what is good.
Peace be with you all.
